Abstract
A neon-like yttrium laboratory x-ray laser (XRL) at 155 Angstrom has b een used to perform radiography, Moire deflectometry and interferometr y of plasmas created in various laser-initiated experiments. A system consisting of the XRL, multilayer mirrors, and multilayer beam splitte rs was assembled to obtain high resolution images of the plasmas. Work is continuing to improve the XRL-higher brightness, shorter pulse len gth, and enhanced coherence-through a program of simulations and exper iments.
