Abstract
The semi-classical Deutsch-Mark (DM) formalism for the calculation of absolute cross-sections for the single ionization of atoms has been ex tended empirically to the calculation of cross-sections for the ioniza tion of clusters. Comparison with the absolute effective ionization cr oss-sections measured for various average cluster size distributions f or H-2 and CO2 clusters shows good agreement with the present calculat ions.
