Abstract
After severe injury to the dorsum of the hand, it may not be possible to directly repair the extensor tendons. Patients in this article were treated by initial skin replacement with pedicle flaps for coverage p rior to extensor tendon grafting. Multiple operative procedures were n ecessary, but restoration was uniformly successful.
