Abstract
We have investigated the modification of Gif-type reactions using hydr ogen peroxide formed in situ by the palladium catalyzed combining of o xygen and hydrogen. The oxidation of cyclohexane in the solvent mixtur e, acetone-acetic acid, gives cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone with rath er high yields, but any solvent containing pyridine is not suitable fo r the modified system.
