Abstract
The skin effect in a long round cylindrical conductor placed in a hete rogeneous sinusoidal transverse magnetic field is considered. Formulae for current density, losses, electrodynamic forces and moments are de rived by means of an energy balance method for various cases of spatia l inhomogeneity of the field.
