The yrast band in the doubly odd Tm-156 nucleus was studied though Sm-
144(F-19,2p5n)Tm-15 reaction at beam energy of 105MeV. Several high-sp
in states of Tm-156 were identified and the highest spin of the band w
ith configuration pi 7/2(-)[523] Xv1/2(+)[660] could be built up to sp
in 25 ($) over bar h. The level structure shows the onset of a non- or
weak collectivity which generally appears at neutron number of 87 in
neutron-deficient rare-earth nuclei.
