A. Kataoka et al., COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS OF A CIRCULATI NG FLUIDIZED-BED GAS COMBUSTOR FOR LOW CALORIFIC FUEL, Kagaku kogaku ronbunshu, 21(4), 1995, pp. 793-799
A circulating fluidized bed equipped with a nozzle burner in the botto
m part of the riser for low calorific gas combustion was proposed, In
this study, the effect of sensible heat of solid particles on the comb
ustion characteristics, NOx emission characteristics and the possibili
ty of NOx control were studied by using simulated coal gasification ga
s. The following conclusions were drawn. Combustion characteristics fo
r low calorific gas were improved by the effect of the sensible heat o
f particles. The conversion ratio from NH3 in the fuel to NOx decrease
s with increasing heat value of fuel, and increasing NH3 concentration
in the fuel. NOx emission was controlled by the effects of staged com
bustion and heat recirculation by particles.
