STUDIES ON SOME NOVEL MIXED-LIGAND OXOVANADIUM(IV) COMPLEXES INVOLVING ACETYLACETONE AND NITROGEN OR OXYGEN DONOR ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS

A series of novel hexa-ccordinated mixed-ligand complexes of oxovanadi um(IV) of the general formula [VO(acac)(2)(L)], where acacH acetylacet one and L E MPHP, DMMASPHP, ADMPHP, CQDPHS, 2,6-XYL, 2-HMP, 3-HMP or 4 -HMP has been synthesized, The complexes have been obtained by refluxi ng the parent compound [VO(acac)2] with the corresponding ligand, L, i n alcohol, The complexes are thermally stable and behave as non-electr olytes. A distorted tracts-octahedral structure has been proposed for these complexes.
