Abstract
The preparation of mixed ligand complexes of Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) + 2,2'-bipyridylamine (2,2'-bipy.A) + thioacids, such as thioglycolic acid (TGA), thiolactic acid (TLA) and thiomalic acid (TMA) has been c arried out. Their physico-chemical properties have been studied using modern analytical techniques. Structure and composition of the complex es have been established on the basis of their elemental analysis, con ductivity, magnetic moments, electronic spectra, infrared spectra, H-1 NMR and thermogravimetric analysis. They have also been tested for th eir antibacterial activities. Octahedral geometry has been assigned to all the isolated complexes.
