Abstract
A personal computer based program ESOLAN has been developed for HPGe d etector effective-solid-angle calculation. This program is very useful in constructing the absolute-peak efficiency (epsilon(p)) vs gamma-ra y energy (E(gamma)) curves for various counting geometries. In this wo rk, the validity of using this program for epsilon(p)-E(gamma) calibra tion was successfully demonstrated with four individual HPGe detector systems for gamma-rays in the energy range similar to 60 keV - similar to 2.7 MeV. The overall uncertainty on the final epsilon(p)-E(gamma) curves was estimated to be similar to 3%.
