Abstract
The first remains of Dasypus aff. D. novemcinctus from the Pleistocene of Uruguay are described. This is the only well documented record of Dasypus in the Pleistocene of South America. Its presence in Sopas For mation (Late Pleistocene) is coincident with the tropical and subtropi cal affinities of its fauna.
