Sf. Vizcaino et al., PRESENCE OF DASYPUS (MAMMALIA EDENTATA, D ASYPODIDAE) IN THE SOPAS FORMATION (LATE PLEISTOCENE) OF URUGUAY - CHRONOLOGICAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE GENUS (CORRECTED VERSION OF QZ582), REV CHIL HN, 68(1), 1995, pp. 95-99
The first remains of Dasypus aff. D. novemcinctus from the Pleistocene
of Uruguay are described. This is the only well documented record of
Dasypus in the Pleistocene of South America. Its presence in Sopas For
mation (Late Pleistocene) is coincident with the tropical and subtropi
cal affinities of its fauna.
