INFLUENCE OF IRON ON THE GROWTH OF THE TOMATO WILT PATHOGEN, FUSARIUM-OXYSPORUM, ISOLATED IN SAUDI-ARABIA

The effect of iron on the growth of Fusarium causal organism of the wi lt disease of tomato isolated from Saudi Arabia was discussed. F, oxys porum isolated from the leaves of tomato was able to grow on a liquid media containing up to 400 mu g/ml Fe. There was a stimulation of grow th at 100 mu g/ml Fe compared to the control, while a reduction in gro wth occurred at 200, 300 and 400 mu g/ml Fe.
