Fe. Wu et al., 2 NEW CYTOTOXIC MONOTETRAHYDROFURAN ANNONACEOUS ACETOGENINS, ANNOMURICIN-A AND ANNOMURICIN-B, FROM THE LEAVES OF ANNONA-MURICATA, Journal of natural products, 58(6), 1995, pp. 830-836
The leaves of Annona muricata have yielded eight monotetrahydrofuran A
nnonaceous acetogenins. Two of them, annomuricins A [1] and B [2], who
se chemical structures were deduced by ms, nmr, it, and uv spectral an
d chemical methods, are novel and unusual. Compounds 1 and 2 each poss
ess five hydroxyl groups; two hydroxyl groups are vicinal, with the vi
cinal. group of 1 threo and that of 2 erythro. The absolute configurat
ions of 1 and 2 were determined by Mosher ester methodology. Six monot
etrahydrofuran acetogenins, previously described in the seeds, were fo
und in the leaves; these are gigantetrocin A, annonacin-10-one, mutica
tetrocins A and B, annonacin, and goniothalamicin.
