With the aim to ascertain the possibility of diffusion of fenoxycarb i
n the agro-ecosystem, investigations were done in a greenhouse of abou
t 40 m(3) in which two-year-old mulberry plants mere growing. A mater
solution of the commercial product Insegar (2.0 gl(-1)) mas poured in
Petri dishes for a total area of 6,104 cm(2). The air inside the green
house was collected by a suction pump when 1/3 of the solution evapora
ted. It contained 3.56 mu g m(-3) of fenoxycarb. As soon as the soluti
on evaporated completely, the mulberry leaves were collected and washe
d with mater. This water contained 390 mu g of fenoxycarb kg(-1) of le
aves. The leaves, dried in the shade and analyzed 15 months after coll
ection, contained 13 mu g kg(-1) of fenoxycarb.
