A subpicosecond starting oscillator based on Nd glass with mode lockin
g for multichannel laser multistage systems has been developed and stu
died. This system uses a cavity that has been extended by a special re
flective optical system, which makes it possible to implement a soft o
scillation regime, using a controlling electrooptical feedback system.
It is shown that the reproduced lasing pulses are 800 fs wide when th
e regime is close to optimal, and that the energy is 3 mu J for the li
miting ratio between the pulsewidth and the spectral width.
