Abstract
An understanding of the mechanisms of current flow in melt-processed H TSC thick films is obviously of critical. importance if these films ar e to find commercial applications. For this reason studies have been c arried out on thick films of BSCCO material to determine the nature of the current path in these materials and the factors which limit their critical current density. The transport and magnetic critical current densities have been compared with the predictions of a simple model o f current flow in these materials.
