Abstract
The authors report the first realisation of an integrated-optic variab le group-delay dispersion equaliser using a lattice-form programmable optical filter. The equaliser consists of seven tunable couplers and s ix asymmetrical Mach-Zehnder interferometers cascaded alternately in s eries. The dispersion can be varied step by step from -923 ps/nm to +6 53 ps/nm.
