Abstract
An eight-channel x 2 nm monolithic polarisation-independent WDM detect or integrating a compact birefringence-free InP/InGaAsP arrayed wavegu ide demultiplexer and a pin waveguide-detector array is reported for t h-e 1.55 mu m fibre band. TE and TM responses displayed < 0.1nm disper sion and < 0.2dB difference in responsivity. Absolute channel placemen t was accurate to < 0.1nm.
