Abstract
Expressions for the displacement and stress fields of a sinusoidal edg e dislocation in an infinitely extended isotropic medium are given. It is suggested that information on the physical properties of non-plana r cracks propagating along [110] in intermetallics with cubic structur es map be obtained by studying particular cracks which consist of cont inuous distributions of sinusoidal edge dislocations perpendicular to [110] with infinitesimal Burgers vectors.
