Three two-factorial experiments with laying hens (light laying hybrids
, LSL) were conducted to determine to what extent sweet white lupins (
Lupinus albus, cv Lublanc), combined also with enzyme supplements, can
be used as a protein source in their diets. The two factors were up t
o 30% freshly harvested or stored lupins in the ration and a supplemen
tation of 0 or 200 mg Roxazyme(R) G per kg feed. The experiments laste
d 3 or 6 months, whereas the animals were in the age of 50 to 75 weeks
. The rations contained in dry matter 18% crude protein and 11.4 MJ ME
(N-corr.) per kg. They were isonitrogenous, isoenergetic and balanced
in methionine concentration.
