The C-2 selectivity of catalyst La2O3 for oxidative coupling of methan
e may be enhanced by doping a small amount of CaO. The studying result
s by using some experimental techniques, such as determination of ioni
c conductivity, determination of lattice parameters, Raman spectroscop
y and XPS of the catalysts indicated that part of La3+ ions was substi
tuted by Ca2+ ion(less than or equal to 3 mol%) in La2O3 lattice and C
-2 selectivity in OCM reaction was increased due to the formation of O
- ions.
