Abstract
Shelved atom experiments appear to show clear evidence for quantum jum ps. We use a gedanken interference experiment to demonstrate that a fu ndamental temporal ambiguity in the photon time-of-emission occurs in such transitions. (C) 1995 American Association of Physics Teachers.
