Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of 5 new coronands 2a-e, containing two 1,3,5-triazine-thiols as subunits and redox-switch are described. Cryptands 3a-e with disulfide bridges were obtained by oxidation. Red uction of cryptands 3a-e yields back the coronands 2a-e. The different complexation properties of the macrocycles 2a-d and 3a-d toward TI(I) , Ag(I) and Hg(II) are also reported.
