Abstract
In the title compound, DL-2-(4-hydroxy-3 -methoxy-phenyl)-2-hydroxyace tic acid, C9H10O5, the acetic acid side chain adopts a roughly perpend icular orientation with respect to the phenyl ring. The molecules are linked together through hydrogen bonds of the type O-H ... O.
