Abstract
The structure of the title compound, C19H26N4O4.H2O, with a water mole cule in the cavity of the macrocycle, is an example of a solvent(water )-lariat macrocycle complex where the macrocycle binds the solvent str ongly. The cyanoethyl side chain does not interact with the water mole cule, showing that solvent-macrocycle interactions can also affect the thermodynamic properties of the side chain of the macrocyclic ring.
