MET-TAMO and N-CPM-MET-TAMO were prepared by the same procedure used f
or the corresponding 5-desmethyl compounds, TAMO and N-CPM-TAMO, excep
t that a new procedure was employed to synthesize the intermediate, 14
beta-amino-7,8-dihydromorphinone. Both MET-TAMO and N-CPM-MET-TAMO pr
oduced wash-resistant inhibition of mu, delta and kappa binding but we
re more potent at the mu receptor.
