Abstract
Sorption of ethanol, n- and i-propanols as well as n-, s- and t-butano ls on H3PW12O40 was investigated at room temperature. Two kinds of sor ption: irreversible and reversible were observed. The former was attri buted to tile formation of (C2H5OHH+ dimers, which presumably are form ing adsorption centres for much weaker reversible sorption. Both proce sses: sorption and desorption follow the diffusion law. Steric effects of different alcohols are shown and discussed.
