M. Wojciechowska et al., MGF2-NIF2 AS A SUPPORT FOR TRANSITION-METAL OXIDE CATALYSTS, Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Chemistry, 43(1), 1995, pp. 89-98
A new type of a support for catalysts, i.e. MgF2-NiF2, was studied in
this work. The IR spectroscopy, X-ray spectroscopy and catalytic tests
were applied to characterize this system. On the surface of the suppo
rt both the Lewis acid centres and the redox or basic centres were ide
ntified. The introduction of a monolayer of an active component, i.e.
MoO3, WO3, or V2O5 onto MgF2-NiF2 system of various per cent compositi
on, caused a significant increase in the activity of these preparation
s. The support containing 50% (mole) of NiF2 in the MgF2-NiF2 system w
as found to have the most profitable influence on the catalytic proper
ties of the studied preparations.
