Gvr. Prasad et Nf. Rossi, ARSENIC INTOXICATION ASSOCIATED WITH TUBULOINTERSTITIAL NEPHRITIS, American journal of kidney diseases, 26(2), 1995, pp. 373-376
Arsenic poisoning is an often unrecognized cause of renal insufficienc
y. We report a case of tubulointerstitial nephritis associated with an
elevated urinary arsenic concentration, Removal of the putative sourc
e of arsenic resulted in symptomatic improvement, resolution of abnorm
al abdominal radiographs, and stabilization of renal function. This ca
se emphasizes the importance of heavy metal screening in patients with
multisystem complaints and tubulointerstitial nephritis. (C) 1995 by
