Ra. Moore et al., CYCLOSPORINE-INDUCED WORSENING OF HEPATIC-DYSFUNCTION IN A PATIENT WITH CROHNS-DISEASE AND ENTEROCUTANEOUS FISTULA, Southern medical journal, 88(8), 1995, pp. 843-844
Cyclosporine recently has become part of the treatment regimen for pat
ients with refractory inflammatory bowel disease, though it is still c
onsidered investigational for that purpose. However, little attention
has been given to the potential hepatotoxicity associated with cyclosp
orine administration. This can be especially significant in patients w
ith preexisting abnormalities of liver function, including those induc
ed by total parenteral nutrition.
