Abstract
The evolution of the spectra of exciton optical reflection of CdSe cry stals at T=4.2 K during bombardment of the samples with ''slow'' (2-ke V) electrons has been studied in detail. The mechanism which shapes th e surface exciton potential has been identified. It involves a univers al electron energy-loss function. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physi cs.
