Abstract
The requirement for adequate abdominal domain does not allow placement of left ventricular assist devices into patients with body surface ar eas less than 1.5 m(2). We describe a technique for prosthetic abdomin al wall closure that may allow placement of devices into smaller recip ients, primarily children and women.
