The dependence of sorption of 4-nitrophenylazoderivatives of phenols a
nd naphthols by polyurethane foams (PUF) (on the basis of ethers and e
sters) has been studied as the function of PUF type, 4-nitropbcnyldiaz
onium tetrafluoroborate concentration, nature and concentration of cou
nter cations and analyzed sample volume. It has been shown that sorpti
on increases in the presence of salts of alkali metals and cationic su
rfactants. Some estimation of sorption mechanism has been made. Sorpti
on-photometric method for the determination of aromatic hydroxycompoun
ds has been developed. It is characterized by low detection limit.
