Abstract
The objective of this work was to determine the traction coefficient a nd the tractive efficiency of an agricultural tractor on a Dark Red La tossol by means of field trials and compare them to those obtained wit h Wismer & Luth (1973) equation. The following data were determined: d rawbar pull, drawbar and PTO power, fuel consumption, forward speed, w heel slip and engine RPM. The results showed that there was a correlat ion of 74% between the observed and calculated drawbar pull values ind icating that the equation can be considered valid under the conditions of this work.
