Abstract
A preliminary work has been done to study the effect of doping RE(15)F e(77)B(8) alloy (RE is the total rare earth content of Mischmetal) wit h Co-1 Al, and Nd. Co increases Curie temperature T-c whereas Al decre ases it. Increase in T-c occurs with increase in Nd content. Co and Al additions make the alloy magnetically soft possibly due to the presen ce of alpha-Fe phase. Magnetic property studies show that cheaper magn ets may be possible to develop with (Nd(100-x)RE(x))(15)Fe66Co10Al1B8 alloys with x = 10 to 30.
