EPITHELIOGENESIS IMPERFECTA IN A FLOCK OF AWASSI SHEEP IN IRAQ

Congenital absence of the skin in Awassi sheep is described. At birth, the affected lambs lacked all skin layers over many body parts. Furth ermore, the affected lambs exhibited deformed teeth and a shorter lowe r jaw. It is thought that an autosomal recessive gene is involved in b ringing about this condition.
