Abstract
Rat liver and house fly, Musca domestica L., glutathione S-transferase s were purified by affinity chromatography and chromatofocusing. The s pecific activity with alpha-naphthyl acetate (a substrate, for general esterase activity) was determined. Some of the esterase activity that is normally assayed for resistance is apparently caused by the activi ty of the glutathione S-transferase.
