Clavatisporella musicola gen. et sp. nov. and Plagiostoma perseae sp.
nov. are described from Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea respectively.
Clavatisporella musae developed on senescent banana leaves in Jayapura
, Irian Jaya, while Plagiostoma perseae formed leaf spots on avocado i
n Vanimo, Papua New Guinea. Both fungi are illustrated with interferen
ce contrast micrographs and P. perseae is compared with possible relat
ed taxa.
