Abstract
Clavatisporella musicola gen. et sp. nov. and Plagiostoma perseae sp. nov. are described from Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea respectively. Clavatisporella musae developed on senescent banana leaves in Jayapura , Irian Jaya, while Plagiostoma perseae formed leaf spots on avocado i n Vanimo, Papua New Guinea. Both fungi are illustrated with interferen ce contrast micrographs and P. perseae is compared with possible relat ed taxa.
