Using 0.003-cm(-1) resolution Fourier transform spectra of O-18-enrich
ed ozone around 4.8 mu m, the first high-resolution analysis of the v(
1) + v(3) bands of (OOO)-O-16-O-18-O-18 and (OOO)-O-18-O-16-O-18 has b
een performed. The experimental rotational levels derived from the ana
lysis were very satisfactorily calculated using a Hamiltonian model wh
ich takes into account the necessary interactions. More precisely, for
(OOO)-O-18-O-16-O-18, the Coriolis-type interactions coupling the lev
els of(101) with those of(002) and (200), as well as the Darling-Denni
son interaction between (002) and (200), were considered. For the nons
ymmetrical species (OOO)-O-16-O-18-O-18, it proves necessary to includ
e Coriolis-type interactions coupling the levels of(101) with those of
(002) and (030). In this way, satisfactory fits were obtained, leadin
g to the following band centers: v(0)(v(1) + v(3)) = 2060.0720 cm(-1)
for (OOO)-O-18-O-16-O-18 and v(0)(v(1) + v(3)) = 2027.5825 cm(-1) for(
16)O(18)O(18)O. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
