Abstract
The tortuosity and the transmission coefficient of porous media are me asured with no automatic 2-D scan technique using narrow-band piezoele ctric transducers with a 39-kHz central frequency. The results show a strong correlation between the two measured parameters. This can be ex plained from a high-frequency analysis which predicts dependence of tr ansmission on tortuosity and characteristic lengths.
