Abstract
Physisorbed xenon on magnetized iron (110), iron (100), and cobalt (00 01) films has been investigated by means of spin- and angle-resolved p hotoelectron spectroscopy with unpolarized light. Spin-resolved spectr a revealed different energy positions of the 5p(3/2) and 5p(1/2) adsor bate levels in the majority and minority spin channels. The splitting shows a significant angle dependence including a sign reversal, with t he maximum occurring in normal emission. This behavior can be qualitat ively explained by a spin-dependent pinning of adsorbate and substrate bands.
