Ym. Smirnov, CROSS-SECTIONS OF DISSOCIATIVE EXCITATION OF SODIUM AND BROMINE ATOMSIN COLLISIONS OF SLOW-ELECTRONS WITH SODIUM-BROMIDE MOLECULES, High energy chemistry, 29(4), 1995, pp. 236-242
Inelastic collisions of monoenergetic electrons with sodium bromide mo
lecules were studied using extended crossed beams with the detection o
f the optical signal from the collision region. The electron energy wa
s up to 100 eV. It was found that dissociative excitation leads to the
generation of the optical spectra of NaI, BrI, and BrII. The main fea
tures of dissociative-excitation cross sections for NaI and BrII and p
ossible reaction mechanisms in the range of low electron energies were
discussed.
