Fj. Valle et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF STEEL WASTE POWDER USED FOR COLORING APPLICATIONSIN BRICKS MANUFACTURING, Revue de métallurgie, 92(5), 1995, pp. 681-686
In order to use a complex steel waste powder from the Siderurgia Calif
ornia SA of CV, Mexicali, as additive for the production of coloured b
uilding bricks, an investigation has been carried out emphasizing the
analytical problems arising for the determination of its chemical comp
osition. The full chemical analysis of this material has implied the a
pplication of several techniques : gravimetry, redox-volumetry, induct
ively coupled plasma, atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), atomic a
bsorption spectrometry (AAS), ion-selective electrodes (ISE), inert ga
s fusion (IGF) and thermogravimetry (TG). The results of the chemical
analysis fit well with the mineralogical composition of material obtai
ned by X-ray diffraction (XRD).
