Yc. Chen et al., FINITE-DIFFERENCE - TIME-DOMAIN ANALYSIS OF A HIGH-FREQUENCY MICROWAVE CONNECTOR, Microwave and optical technology letters, 10(1), 1995, pp. 19-22
In this study, the finite-difference-time-domain method (FDTD) is used
to analyze a complex packaging component, namely, a high-frequency mi
crowave connector. Because the FDTD technique is easy to use and very
flexible, it can be employed to analyze packaging components whose geo
metrical configurations are highly complex. In contrast, other approac
hes, for example, the method of moments (MoM), the method of lines (Mo
L), and the finite-element method (FEM), are more difficult to apply t
o complex geometries. In this article we employ the FDTD method to inv
estigate the scattering parameters of a microwave connector and valida
te the numerical results by comparing them with measured data. (C) 199
