Over three years ngo the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) pro cess safety management regulation became effective in the United State s. Most of us have dealt with the initial shock of that regulation and what it entailed and hopefully, we have things pretty much under cont rol. Although, one hates to be the bearer of bad news, it is not yet t ime to relax. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has another pr ocess safety regulation in store for the ammonia industry. In fact, in some mens, the EPA's upcoming risk management, programs regulation ma kes the OSHA regulations look like child's play. If is vouch better to be proactive than reactive when responding to new regulations. A proa ctive approach allows one to make the correct long-term decisions with out the pressure of a compliance deadline.
