Abstract
The applicability of dimethyldioxirane to the release of organic ligan ds present in models of the title metal complexes has been studied. In both cases, the decomplexation process takes place at slow rates, wit h good conversion yields. However, the release of the organic ligand c ompetes with the oxidation of unsaturated moities present in the relea sed compound. This fact should be considered in assessing the advantag es of dimethyldioxirane in front of the conventional reagents used for the release of organic ligands from these metal complexes.
