Abstract
Cocaine abuse has escalated over the past 10 to 15 years. Cocaine may precipitate harmful or catastrophic cardiovascular events, including m yocardial ischemia or infarction,(1) and arrhythmias and sudden death. (2,3) Although sudden death, presumably due to an arrhythmia following cocaine use, has been described, cocaine's electrophysiologic effects in humans have not been elucidated. This study was performed for this purpose.
