The synthesis and spectroscopic characterisation of the chelate comple
xes with L-aziridine-2-carboxylate (ac) (OC)(2)Rh(ac), (eta(5)C(5)Me(5
))(Cl)Ir(ac), (eta(3)C(3)H(5)Pd(ac), Me(2)NCH(2)C(6)H(4)Pd(ac) (R(3)P(
Cl)Pd(ac) (R=Et, Bu, Ph), (Ph(3)P)(Cl)Pt(ac), [(Ph(3)P)(2)Pt(ac)](BF4-
)-B-+ are reported. The structure of (OC),Rh(ac) has been determined b
y X-ray diffraction and a comparison of the structures of aziridine-2-
carboxylate, azetidine-carboxylate and prolinate (with three-, four- a
nd five-membered rings) complexes is given.
