Abstract
By means of the propagation law of partially coherent light and in con sideration of the segmented wedge array (SWA) line focus geometry, a t heoretical model for the line focus simulation is presented which enab les calculation of the intensity distributions along the line focus le ngth and width, and the optimal non-uniformity eta(o)pt of Gaussian Sc hell model beams focused by the SWA. Typical numerical calculation res ults are given to demonstrate the dependence of the illumination unifo rmity on the coherence of incident laser beams and the parameters of o ptical focusing systems.
