Abstract
New excavations at Tell el-Amarna, where Flinders Petrie discovered ov er a century ago the first evidence of Egyptian glass manufacture, hav e qualified and extended his findings. Glass, pottery and faience were made in very close proximity, the glass probably being melted into in gots in cylindrical vessels.
